    Essential Job Duties

    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, review, and thank all day of event volunteers – approximately 1000 individuals
    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, supervise, review and thank all pre event volunteers – approximately 250 – whose service projects include, but are not limited to, phone banking, mailings, canvassing, volunteer information/recruitment fairs, packing/loading
    • Recruit, confirm, orient, check in, supervise, review and thank all post-event volunteers – approximately 100 whose service projects include, but are not limited to phone banking, mailings, packing, loading storage, etc.
    • Prepare pre/post volunteer projects event
    • Develop, plan, and facilitate volunteer orientation for the Day of Event
    • Supervise participating organization volunteer hours and projects
    • Generating regular communication with volunteer data base to engage them in the cause and encourage their individual fundraising
    • Maintain and operate individual volunteer records using the Raiser’s Edge Volunteer Module
    • Serve as primary liaison to ‘Key Volunteers’ or area coordinators of major components of the Day of Event
    • Strategize and engage volunteers from corporations that have “Dollars for Doer’s “type of programs
    • Engage volunteers to fundraise for the cause.  The fundraising goal for this segment is $20,000
    • Flexible schedule with consistent evening availability required in order to host group phone banking sessions

    Other Duties

    • Supply office support as needed
    • Schedule, set up, operate, etc. Key Volunteer meeting
    • Generate and distribute all requested certification of volunteer service hours as requested (schools, work court order, etc.)
    • Update Social Networking Coordinator
    • Represent event at Community/tabling events to inform and recruit participants
    • Assist and attend other Development team related events as needed/some evenings and weekends will be required



    • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.


    • 1 to 2 years volunteer supervisory and/or fundraising experience is ideal. 
    • Capable of working under stress in fast-paced, diverse, and active professional environment is required.


    Skills and Abilities

    • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
    • Specifically, candidate will have excellent phone, electronic, and written communication skills.
    • MS Office suite experience is essential.
    • Willingness to learn Windows-based database system required.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must demonstrate a willingness and ability to fundraise. 
    • Total commitment to the success of AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run is expected. 
    • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, and have regular access to reliable transportation, and have flexible schedule working some nights and weekends as campaign dictates.
    • Employees involved with special events will be required to commit to working 7 days a week in the month of October to ensure the success of AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run.
