JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Benefit Specialist works with both insured and uninsured clients in order to gain access to clinical services, HIV/AIDS medications, and/or financial assistance to cover insurance premiums. Patient Benefit Specialists may assist clients in completing State Department of Public Health (DPH), ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) and HICP (Health Insurance Continuation Program) applications.
The Patient Benefit Specialist is responsible for collecting and submitting proper documentation to DPH and coordinating with DPH staff to enroll and/or recertify clients for initial and continued assistance. Additionally, the Patient Benefit Specialist will gather all relevant insurance information from clients/patients and collects applicable fees.
